- People infected with HIV in the United States should be screened for active and latent TB at the time of HIV diagnosis (Management Guidelines)[DHHS Adult OI]
- Patients who have a negative test result for LTBI with CD4+ cell counts < 200 cells/mm3 should be rescreened for LTBI after the CD4+ cell count is ≥ 200 cells/mm3 while receiving ART[DHHS Adult OI]
- Patients with CD4+ cell counts ≥ 200 cells/mm3 who are in a high-risk exposure group should be rescreened for LTBI yearly[DHHS Adult OI]
