Summary
- MRSA commonly presents as a soft-tissue abscess or boil with a necrotic center resembling a spider bite or as a large soft-tissue abscess associated with fever, chills, pus, and erythema[Moran 2006; Diep 2008]
- MRSA abscesses are purulent may require surgical incision and drainage
- Soft-tissue infections are often recurrent
