  • CNS infections, especially toxoplasmosis, should be considered in patients with suspected cryptococcal meningitis, particularly those with signs of focal brain involvement
  • Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy and HIV encephalopathy should also be considered in patients with a more encephalopathic presentation
