Introduction
- HIV-infected patients are at increased risk of several cancers
- The following malignancies are AIDS defining: KS, high-grade B-cell NHL, and ICC

- Early referral of patients with malignancies to expert clinicians appears to improve outcomes[BHIVA HIV Cancer; Brook 2004]
HIV-infected individuals are at an increased risk of developing several cancers, 3 of which are classified as AIDS-defining malignancies:
- Kaposi’s sarcoma
- High-grade B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL), including primary central nervous system lymphoma
- Invasive cervical cancer
