Summary
- Diagnosis of invasive cervical cancer should be confirmed by histology (Figure 13) (Table 2)[Wells 2003]
- Prognostic factors include stage, volume and grade of tumor, histologic type, lymphatic spread, and vascular invasion
- Evaluation for metastatic disease should include a physical examination for nodal metastases, an intravenous urogram, chest x-ray, and routine laboratory studies
