    Thresholds for Treatment
    • It is reasonable to assess HIV-infected patients for possible anemia treatment when hemoglobin reaches WHO threshold for defining anemia (< 13 g/dL in men or < 12 g/dL in women) (Management Guidelines)[WHO 2001]
    • Evidence that treating at this hemoglobin threshold will affect HIV clinical outcomes is equivocal
    • It is important not to overlook comorbidities that should be treated (Table 4)
