Management of Hematologic Disorders
Summary
- Corticosteroids elevate platelet counts in approximately 40% to 80% of patients with HlV-associated thrombocytopenia, although long-term remission occurs in only 10% to 20% of patients[Abrams 1986; Goldsweig 1986; Oksenhendler 1987]
- Immune globulin intravenous may increase platelet count rapidly, but transiently[Yap 1991]
