  • In HIV-infected men, especially those with chronic hepatitis, measurement of free testosterone is recommended, either by the equilibrium dialysis method or calculated using the total testosterone measured by liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry, sex hormone binding globulin, and serum albumin[Mylonakis 2001; Vermeulen 1999]
