Summary
- CMV IRIS most commonly presents with ocular disease, although pneumonitis, acute appendicitis, and sialadenitis have also been reported[Miller 2000; Faldetta 2014; Sheikh 2013]
- A more inflammatory reaction known as immune recovery vitritis can occur later in the course of ART
- Patients who develop immune recovery vitritis require long-term ophthalmologic follow-up
