    Epidemiology
    • KS is a multifocal, low-grade, vascular tumor caused by KS herpesvirus/HHV-8[Chang 1994]
    • AIDS-associated KS usually occurs in HIV-infected patients with low CD4+ cell counts and poorly controlled HIV viremia[Lodi 2010; Yanik 2013]
    • Most cases occur before or within 6 months of ART initiation[Jaffe 2011; Yanik 2013]
