- Antipsychotics are first-line treatment for very acute presentation (eg, severe judgment impairment, high activity, clear psychotic symptoms); used for short time and concurrent with mood stabilizers
- Generally safe to use with ART; an exception is ritonavir, which lowers concentrations of olanzapine
