Summary
- CDC recommend routine voluntary opt-out HIV screening for all persons aged 13-64 years and screening persons at high risk of HIV infection at least annually (Management Guidelines)[Branson 2006]
- Opt-out HIV testing has been shown to increase testing and new HIV/AIDS name-based case reports and reduce time between diagnosis and linkage to care[Brown 2007; Castel 2014; Fenton 2007]
- Late diagnosis has been associated with risk exposure other than MSM, older age, and nonwhite race[Buchacz 2012; Iwuji 2013]
